Forward Deployed Context Manager (FDCM)
A new professional role for AI-native organizations. The FDCM owns your Unified Context Layer (UCL), runs intelligence sprints, and keeps your AI systems aligned with real business goals.
What is a Forward Deployed Context Manager?
Modern businesses don't just need AI tools — they need someone who owns the business context those tools depend on. The Forward Deployed Context Manager (FDCM) is the person responsible for installing and maintaining the Unified Context Layer (UCL): the structured business dataset that makes AI systems reliable, consistent, and aligned with strategy.
Without an FDCM, organizations tend to experience hallucinations, brittle workflows, conflicting rules, and constant rework. With an FDCM, context becomes a managed asset — and AI becomes a dependable part of the operating model.
What FDCMs Actually Do
FDCMs work at the intersection of strategy, workflows, and AI. They don't write models — they design and maintain the context architecture that models and agents rely on.
1. Vision Definition (VDD)
Capture goals, customers, constraints, assumptions, and strategy into a structured Vision Definition Document that both humans and AI can rely on.
2. UCL Construction
Build out the Unified Context Layer using the XDD, SCD, and EMD — covering workflows, rules, constraints, and learnings.
3. Team of Six & Agent Design
Define the logic, inputs, outputs, and guardrails for the six core growth roles — the Team of Six — so agents and humans work from the same playbook.
4. Sprint Rhythm & Governance
Run the four TOS sprints to keep the UCL up to date, monitor agent drift, and ensure reliable, auditable AI behaviour across the business.
Who Becomes an FDCM?
FDCMs can come from many backgrounds. You don't need to be an engineer — you need to be comfortable with structured thinking, context, and iteration.
- • Founders & co-founders
- • Operators & general managers
- • Product managers & strategists
- • Business analysts & ops leaders
- • Innovation & transformation leads
- • AI consultants & advisors
- • Ambitious professionals who want to own AI execution
The core requirement isn't code — it's ownership of context, clarity, and continuous improvement.
How to Become an FDCM
There are two ways to move into this role — starting with your own organization, and optionally joining a wider network of practitioners.
Path 1 · Context Accelerator
Implement the full 9-step UCL method inside your business with guided support. You'll act as the FDCM while we help you:
- • Build your Vision Definition Document (VDD)
- • Construct your Unified Context Layer (UCL)
- • Design your Team of Six logic & GPT agents
- • Install the sprint cadence that keeps everything alive
Path 2 · Apply for Future Certification
We're building a global network of certified FDCMs. If you'd like to be considered for early training, certification, or future opportunities:
- • Register your interest as an FDCM candidate
- • Get notified when formal certification opens
- • Be considered for pilot and enterprise deployments
